Moms Who are Making It
I have been meaning to post about this for a while, but due to a very busy work schedule (day job), and a very busy night schedule (Isabell's Umbrella), I haven't had a chance.
Last week I had the honor to attend the Mom's Who Make it Conference as one of the nominees for the Moms Who are Making It award (read more about this here).
To say the least, I was absolutely shocked when I opened my email last Sunday and I had an email from Julie at CraziBeautiful congratulating me. I really didn't deserve this award -- there are so many other Mom's out there that have overcome so many challenges in their lives, but I am very grateful to have been among the eight selected.
I am so lucky to have such a wonderful family. They constantly offer support. I owe a very special thank you to my sister Aimee for the kindness and love she has shown to me (she was the mastermind behind my nomination). She lives in Georgia, so we do not get to see each other often (in fact it has been over two years since the last visit). I love and miss her very much!
I also owe a special thank you to the rest of you who helped make this nominee possible. Unfortunately I don't know everyone of you, but please know that I would give you a big hug if it were possible.
I am so grateful for the experience of attending the conference, and for the wonderful honor I received. The speakers were wonderful. I left feeling inspired, and full of energy for Isabell's Umbrella. Thank you so much to all of those who put so much hard work into this wonderful conference -- from the directors to the speakers -- it really was beautiful!
I am truly blessed.
For those who are interested, this is what was said about me:
Ashley is definitely a Mom who makes it!
Althought she works full-time as a graphic designer artist for the MHTN Architects in Salt Lake City she is the creative talent, owner, and operator of Isabells Umbrella.
Her work is featured at multiple websites and brick and mortar stores; see her blog at Isabellas-umbrella.blogspot.com for a complete listing of where to find Isabella’s Umbrella.
Specializing in stationary that will lift the clouds of a rainy day, Ashley’s hopes are to renew the lost “art” of hand correspondence by creating stationary you will want to share with others. “There is nothing that means more to me than a kind, heartfelt, handwritten note form someone I love”. (Expert from Isabell’s Umbrella profile.)
Ashley is an inspiration as a mother, sister, wife and a friend. She is mother to two beautiful children with a third child on the way.
Please honor Ashley with the recognition she deserves and crown her with the title “Mom Who Makes It”
From: Lindsey, Kathy, Krystal, Lindsay, Hilary, Aimee, Christie, Coni… and possibly a few more!
